It's all about the team!

At Kauai Team Challenge, we offer outstanding team building, leadership development, and experiential education. Our staff will work with you to create a customized professional training to best suit your needs. We will help assess your time, your initial goals, your budget and the size of your group, then design either a half, full, or multiple day training for you.

Kauai Team Challenge is unique in several respects. We are located on the north shore of Kauai, with beachfront access on Hanalei Bay near the Na Pali coast, world renowned for it's incredible beauty. Secondly, we incorporate traditional Hawaiian values into our program. With native Hawaiian advisors, kumus (teachers), kupuna (elders) and staff, we follow traditional values such as pono (righteousness), lokahi (harmony) and ho'ihi (respect). Our staff, regardless of background, are trained to create cultural awareness and alertness throughout the course. Groups can enjoy learning about the ahupua`a and the rich history of Waipa through the many programs that we offer.

Waipa is an intact ahupua`a (watershed) of roughly 1,600 acres which is being restored by the Hawaiian Farmers of Hanalei and the Waipa Foundation as a Hawaiian community and ahupua`a and learning center. We are in collaboration with other agencies such as the University of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Kamehameha Schools, local and distant learning programs, and many more. We not only help train others in teamwork and collaboration, we also practice these values.

Our newest program includes:

  • Team Challenge

Here, your group will encounter a series of team building challenges that promote many different core values, as well as help teach through experience. The Team Challenge will bring your group together as it completes the specific task. Because our trainings are experientially based, your group will learn first hand what behaviors and styles work best for them. Our facilitators are there to provide information, clarity, and support to your team. They will help debrief the activity once it's over, and ask important questions to help guide the focus of the group. Children as well as adults respond well to this style, by getting immediate results from their actions (hands on) and later talking about what just individuals have learned in the past. This model has been very effective in creating shifts in thinking through a fun and energetic training. We have found that children, adventure seeking travelers, as well as corporate groups, are quite responsive to this kind of training.

  • High Ropes

This awesome course sits oceanfront on Hanalei Bay for not only your enjoyment but also as a catalyst to personal growth. There are a total of 8 elements to traverse on our impressive "islands in the sky". Our zipline is an adrenaline filled crossing over an ancient Hawaiian Fish Pond.

These elements range from 35 to 40 feet from the ground, creating a challenging and exciting environment. During the Low Ropes segments, individuals learn how they support the team. Here on the High Ropes, we are able to turn the tables and display how the team supports the individuals.
